Levantado do Chão literary route

Abstract

This paper presents the construction process of the Levantado do Chão literary route based on Saramago’s book Levantado do Chão. This route offers a useful and contextualised network of paths and information, through technological and analogical tools that allow the traveller to carry out authentic and customised experiences. At the same time, the route promotes the development and sustainability of territories and local communities. To create this literary tourism product, we completed six major stages. This work reveals the procedures and criteria we have adopted throughout these six stages, with the aim to contribute to the production of other national literary tourism projects.
