This text proposes an appreciation of Orlando Ribeiro’s writing, combining Luís Vaz de Camões’ literature and geography. Based on the geographer’s work, the discussion highlights the relations between the notable poet’s writing and his travels, places and observations of his environment. In this context, the central objective is to revisit the article “Camões and Geography” and answer the questions raised, e.g., what is the investigative ability to understand Camões and its geography? This paper is based on bibliographical research, a methodology focused on the critical analysis of texts. When analysing Ribeiro’s text, results comprehend the relation between the legacy and the fates “Verdes são os campos” and “Soneto Andreia”, poems by Camões.
