Heritage, cultural maintenance and tourism: A study of the traditional embroidery in Ouro Preto – MGThis article presents a study on the embroidery workshop held in Ouro Preto/MG and seeks to understand the practice of embroidery and its importance for cultural heritage, as well as possibilities for economic, social and creative tourism development. Taking a qualitative approach of a descriptive-exploratory nature, bibliographic and documentary research was used as a first step in the methodology. Data were also collected through observations and semi-structured interviews with research subjects. The justification for the research lies in the importance of discussing cultural heritage and its appreciation, analysing the possibilities of promoting, supporting and preserving the embroiderers' craft. The results showed that embroidery is a practice carried out as a group, where subjects can share processes and results, exchange experiences, and experience collective creation, demonstrating the existence of new paradigms of the art of embroidery, which integrate tradition and modernity in a unique way.
